We woke up way to early because #jetlag. So we got ready and headed down to eat.
mirror selfies are always fun! ;)
Breakfast was a little different, but we all found something to eat!
Even if it was just white bread! ;)
We went back up to our room to pack and get ready to meet our guide - Ming Ming.
They love glass elevators!
We met Ming Ming and started our day exploring Shanghai! First stop - Bund River.
We noticed quickly that we caused a bit of a disturbance...maybe because my kids are monkeys!
Then we stopped for a sweet little picture...
and this happened!
People were lined up to take pictures of and with our girls! It was a bit crazy. We were kinda stuck for like 10 minutes and then just had to kinda grab them and start walking! ha!
The air quality really is so bad. Ryne started coughing this day and it lasted until we left for home!
Our awesome guide Ming Ming!
Bund River really was beautiful. The girls loved all the designs made by flowers. Next stop a local shopping area...
We were also able to walk through an ancient Ming Dynasty home that was in the center of the shopping area.
It was unbelievably beautiful.
The girls were able feed some fish too!
and this happened alot!
It was nice to just sit and soak it all in for a minute!
After shopping (we bought some silk scarfs and tea and the girls picked out some fans and little purses), we headed to this famous restaurant, The line was wrapped around the building to eat on the street. We headed inside to sit down.
We let our guide do the ordering...
She ordered some cute stuff!
She's a pro at chopsticks already!
After our lunch, which was really pretty yummy, we headed to the train station. Now, let me tell you, in my mind the train station was quaint. We would peacefully board almost like an old fashioned train and go through pretty little towns and countrysides to get to our next location. Reality was a bit different. It was huge (like an airport), incredibly crowded (lots of pushing and lack of lines), and pretty blah. They also had only sqautty potties which is super fun with 2 little girls! #mommaslegmayhavebeenpeedon
We made it! The actual train was nice and spacious (our agency had booked first class tickets for us), so we settled in for our 1 hour train ride.
The ride was quick and uneventful. After fighting our way off the train and out of the humongous train station we met our guide. He loaded us up and we started the drive to our hotel in Hangzhou. The girls lack of sleep/time zone change hit them hard and they caught a little nap on the way.
Of course, Ryne must ride!
Ryne was dying over this bathroom! It had blinds you could lower for some privacy, but it was wide open when we came in. Reese didn't realize it was open and ran straight to the bathroom when we got in the room. Her face was priceless when she realized we could all see her! Poor Reese was so tired that she took a nap before dinner and just could not really wake up after it.
Dinner was rough for our tired girl so I took we back to the room where so quickly crashed (around 6pm!) while Jeremy took Ryne swimming. The hotel did not allow cameras which is a bummer because they did require swim caps...even for jeremy!
While Reese slept and they swam...I worked on "first meeting" gifts! Then it was time for bed because tomorrow we meet Jeter!
